Sublime in her velvet dress dotted with stars by Yves Saint Laurent, Virginie Efira was chosen by the Académie des César to present an honorary César to director David Fincher, on this evening of Friday February 24, 2023. A real honor for the actress, as she explained in the columns of our colleagues from Sunday newspaper: “The Academy had offered it to me because, in a program, I had spoken about Gone Girl, that I love. I reviewed the films of this director whom I admire and asked Stéphane Bouley, author of Peer into the darkness on Fincher’s cinema, to give me some ideas. “He looked like a young hope of French cinema”
The beautiful 45-year-old blonde, who will be rewarded that same evening, in the Best Actress category for her role in See Paris again, respond straight away: “It was still weird to me to see Brad Pitt come backstage and say to me, ‘Virginia? Great to see you!’, as if I were the neighbor he met every day”. And to specify moreover that the American star had played the game until the end:“He went to dinner at Fouquet’s with everyone after the ceremony: he looked like a young hope of French cinema”she confides as if to underline the great simplicity of the actor of Seven.
