Questioned at length on Thursday March 21 about her possible links with billionaire Vincent Bolloré, Rachida Dati affirmed that she was not “not the minister of a clan or an ideology”. The Minister of Culture was interviewed under oath by the commission of inquiry into TNT frequencies.

The tone rose with her rapporteur, the deputy La France insoumise Aurélien Saintoul, who first asked her if she was carrying out a “crusade” against Wokism, because she had described this movement as “censorship policy”at the beginning of February on CNews-Europe 1, two media outlets controlled by Vincent Bolloré. “Your words go too far. We are no longer in a republican framework”responded to MP Rachida Dati.

The minister “not concerned” by TNT attributions

Then Aurélien Saintoul questioned her about a possible link between the meeting in September of Emmanuel Macron and Vincent Bolloré, and his appointment to the Ministry of Culture. “It becomes very personal. These are questions that suspect things (…) The crusade, the attacks, the collusions or others, I am not here to answer that… You call into question my legitimacy, my capacity, my competence? I would be the object of a contract between two men?”the minister raised.

Rachida Dati assured that she had not discussed with Vincent Bolloré, before or after his appointment, about the channels of the Canal+ group in the billionaire’s fold, and whose authorizations must be renewed for 2025. “I let the process take place in complete independence”, under the aegis of Arcom, the media regulator, she insisted. And hammer out: “I don’t see how I would be concerned by these attributions.”
