“I am indeed appalled… You still have to remain dignified”, Nicola Sirkis from Indochina denounces his “colleagues” who only want to “earn money”

Since 1981, and the famous Adventurer, Indochine connects records and concerts to the delight of their growing number of fans. A French rock group, led by Nicola Sirkis, which has managed the rare feat of filling Bercy and the Stade de France and of continuing, with as much success as ever, triumphant tours such as the current one of the Festival Tour2023. And the key to such public esteem surely and also lies in the moral uprightness of this group which has never deviated from its values. Remember, on January 6, 2023, Indochine clearly expressed its anger on social networks following the surprise relocation of the “Déferlantes Sud de France” to Perpignan. That is to say in the RN municipality of Louis Aliot and had announced the cancellation, under these conditions, of his participation. The group revealed its position: “Festival Tour 2023 / Info Les Déferlantes: Yesterday morning, we were faced with the fait accompli, that the Festival Les Déferlantes, where we are scheduled on July 8, was moving to Perpignan instead of the site initially planned. Last night, the RN mayor of Perpignan tweeted that he was happy to host the Festival Les Déferlantes. We expressly ask the management of Les Déferlantes to move this festival to another location, otherwise we will cancel our visit.” Indochine, in the person of its leader Nicola Sirkis, has never accepted the slightest compromise to its values.

“We check each time that there is no abuse”
And this Saturday, April 22, 2023, it is in the columns of Sunday newspaper that the singer, currently in London to record a 14th studio album, wanted to denounce the abuses of some of his “colleagues” practicing, according to him, prohibitive tariffs in order, quite simply, “wanting to make money”, while his own group has always capped its prices, at an average of 50 euros per seat. Nicola Sirkis considering that this is an approach “ethical, social, moral and even philosophical”. And further explains his point of view: “Music is for us an art of sharing and communion. We have always been vigilant about the price of our tickets. The only concerts where we cannot impose our prices are those of the festivals, but we check each time that there is no abuse.”, he said before denouncing: “When I see the ticket prices of some of my ‘colleagues’,I am indeed floored. Now we live in a liberal economy system, producers and some artists want profit. Not me, not at any price. You still have to stay dignified.”, he concludes on this subject which is particularly close to his heart. Fans can only appreciate…
