“I am both saddened and scandalized” by the news of Sciences Po Paris, deplores the essayist Alain Minc at the microphone of franceinfo Monday April 29, after demonstrations by pro-Palestine students within the establishment on rue Saint-Guillaume last week. A former student of Sciences Po, he regrets this situation: “This house, which was the temple of openness and moderation, becomes the Trojan horse of wokism.” He deplores a “ideological evolution totally contrary to the traditional, academic and universalist rules of Sciences Po”.

Alain Minc explains this development by the arrival of numerous foreign students at Sciences Po, which causes “an ideological osmosis”with a “abdication in front of extremely active minorities”. The economist differentiates between freedom of expression and the actions of students at Sciences Po: “The taking hostage of an educational community by a tiny minority at the time of the European elections does not exactly fall under freedom of expression”he decides.

On Monday, the Ile-de-France region decided to suspend its subsidies to Sciences Po, “until serenity and security are restored”, announced Valérie Pécresse. A decision welcomed by the political advisor who considers that “the State must put this shop in order”. To do this, he proposes that the State appoint a new director for a defined period to “put an end to these wanderings”.
