Exhausted from having to constantly shave or wax her face, a young woman decided to accept herself as she is and let her beard grow.
Coral Sanchez started growing hair on her chin when she was just 9 years old. At 12, she had to shave every morning to avoid attracting the attention of bullies, she says. But by the afternoon, the regrowth was beginning to show. She was covering her face with foundation to hide it all.
Coral found herself homeless at age 26, unable to shave every day. She began to wonder why she was doing all this to herself. So she decided to drop the razor.
She suffers from polycystic ovary syndrome which upsets the functioning of the ovaries and causes her hirsutism, the excessive growth of dark hair.
The 29-year-old American from Seattle’s lover, Illias Clark, 25, an artist and writer, supports her and assures her that she is beautiful and that her hair is naturally produced by her body.
Coral, who is now a content creator, now sports her full beard on social media, she even colors it on occasion.
“When you feel you have real beauty, no one can convince you otherwise. I am beautiful. Lots of love to all,” Coral proudly wrote on Instagram.
