Shanna Kress and Matijas Jonathan went to the Timone hospital in Marseille to perform an amniocentesis. Stressed, the couple recounts the very impressive intervention which consists of taking amniotic fluid from the pocket where their babies are.
A few days ago, Shanna Kress and Matijas Jonathan received terrible news from their gynecologist: one of their babies or their two twins had a high chance of having Down syndrome. On June 2, 2022, the former reality TV candidate and her companion therefore went to perform an amniocentesis in order to check whether their babies were in good health or suffering from a form of trisomy 18, 19 or 21.
“I’m afraid that I’ll be given bad news, at the same time I’m in a hurry because I’m afraid of not knowing. I’m tired of being in the dark, that’s the worst thing. I hope one thing is that it will go as planned and that we will come across people who will be able to reassure us“, confided the young man just before the intervention.
For her part, the former candidate of the angels entrusts : “I’m very very very stressed because I don’t hide from you even if I have tattoos everywhere I hate needles. Apparently it’s a needle that’s going to be stuck in my stomach. We will take samples etc. I’m super stressed.”
The needle passed very close to the babies
After the amniocentesis is completed, the couple recounts how this very impressive procedure unfolded. “I didn’t expect at all to see the midwife brush my wife thoroughly with betadine several times, in front of me I see my wife who is white. I have a feeling she’s going to freak out. (…) It was impressive, I was facing the screen and you could see the needle passing very close to the babies.“reveals Matijas,”It was not pleasant and I almost passed out, I held myself back, I said to myself ‘Come on be strong, be strong’.”
At the end of this meeting, the lovers were able to ask many questions to the gynecologist. “We have had information on everything that is happening, in fact there is really a chance that there is nothing. There is a chance that there is really on one or that there is really on two. At this stage, with what the gynecologist told us, we don’t know at all.“In shock, the couple must still wait 48 hours to be fixed on the state of health of their twins.
