In the nine, which would you choose between a Hyundai Tucson and a Nissan Rogue SV?
—————-
Hello Rui,
The Nissan Rogue SV inherits since 2022 a new three-cylinder turbocharged engine with variable compression technology, which aims to minimize fuel consumption while increasing power and torque. If, on paper, this technology seems convincing, it is different in real life, where consumption is hardly as impressive as one would think. You should also know that the power announced with the Rogue (201 horsepower) seems less than that of the Hyundai Tucson, announced at 187 horsepower.
The Nissan Rogue, which has an average fuel consumption of 7.6 L/100 km, is therefore more like a combined average of 8.5 L/100 km. Nothing catastrophic, of course, but not as remarkable as the data suggests. Now, know that the Rogue remains a tad less greedy than the Tucson, in which the average oscillates around 9 L/100 km. A vehicle that, like the Rogue, provides plenty of comfort, space and amenities, but has the advantage of a five-year basic warranty.
In my opinion, the Tuscon is more pleasant on a daily basis because of its mechanical efficiency, since it uses a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine mated to a traditional automatic transmission, and not a continuously variable transmission. Hyundai also offers a higher towing capacity, a mechanism that will certainly be more robust and ultimately, a product that is simply more convincing. The only catch is that it will burn a little more fuel. Unless you opt for the hybrid version, which has no equivalent on the side of Nissan.
