Several hundred people are expected for Lola’s funeral on Monday, October 24. The ceremony, open to the public, is organized at Lillesin Pas-de-Calais. The girl will then be buried in the strictest privacy.
Preparations are taking place in Lillers (Pas-de-Calais), Monday, October 24, the village where Lola’s mother is from. The parents of the little girl specified that at this ceremony will be welcomed all those who wish to pay homage to her. “If it does them good, we will support them morally”, says a woman. Hundreds of people are expected. They will be able to follow the funeral from the forecourt, the ceremony which will be soundproofed.
“I would like to lay flowers, meditate for five minutes and then leave the family in all its privacy”, says another resident. Lola’s parents called for respect and dignity, away from political and media turmoil. This is also the wish of the bishop of Arras (Pas-de-Calais), who hopes that the “people will be very sober, very discreet”. Mass will be followed by burial in the village cemetery, in the strictest privacy.
