For the first time in Western Europe, a man of Indo-Pakistani origin and of Muslim faith is appointed Prime Minister. Humza Yousaf takes over as head of the Scottish government.
The new Prime Minister of Scotland, Humza Yousaf, 37, is of Indo-Pakistani origin and of Muslim faith, a first in Western Europe. The politician demonstrates the integration of the Indo-Pakistani community in the UK. Anchored on the left, Humza Yousaf is presented as the spiritual son of the outgoing Prime Minister, Nicola Sturgeon.
He wants Scottish independence
He thus wishes to increase the taxes of richest, to facilitate the change of gender of the teenagers and to obtain the independence of Scotland. He also denounced the lack of diversity in Scottish institutions. “In our government, every director general is white. Every president of every public institution is white, it’s not enough”. After ten years in the Scottish government, his opponents denounce a poor record, especially in the Ministry of Health. The Prime Minister also inherits a divided party.
