Hugo pop! | The new season of Clodine

Multi-part chronicle which begins with the revelation of spring, not the new beige armchairs of Good evening !but Clodine Desrochers at Get me out of here!.

Like Nathalie Simard who flourished in the tropical forest last year, the host reveals herself in a comical, true and endearing light in TVA’s survivalist reality show, where she handles tarantulas and bites into beef testicles without faint – and without vomiting.

We could have imagined Clodine Desrochers, former queen of morning decoration and food shows, as a precious princess, disgusted by dirt and put off by bugs. The episodes of Get me out of here! rather show us a funny, enthusiastic, involved and generous woman.

To hell with nice laundry and blow-drying, long live wet frizz. In addition to predicting the future with her pendulum, Clodine Desrochers even lends her air-conditioned trailer to her fellow campers, even though she could have enjoyed cool nights alone, sheltered from the torrential rains.

Clodine Desrochers even refused to eat her lumberjack breakfast because production had forbidden her from sharing the luxury food with her colleagues. I mean, after days and days of white rice and black bines, I probably would have downed the cup of coffee on the sly. Bacon too.

For a Quebec star, appear in Get me out of here! Or Big Brother Celebrities in Noovo involves risks “in terms of reputational issues”, would say a public relations specialist paid far too much to send emails all day. For Clodine Desrochers, the jungle game was worth it. It’s obvious that we will see her again soon on our screens, she who now works as a territory manager for Biron laboratories.

Same thing for Joëlle Paré-Beaulieu and Daniel Savoie of Big Brother Celebrities. The winner of the season, Danick Martineau, was not treated to a wave of love as strong as the one that swept over this dynamic duo.

Still on TVA, the daily Indefensible and her rival STAT from Radio-Canada were once again victims of actor duplication, almost synchronized to perfection.

Earlier this week, petty criminal Joey Mandeville fromIndefensible, played by Joakim Robillard, was brutally beaten up, he who acted as the main witness in the trial of poor Fabien Bergé (Alexandre Landry). The same evening, to a surprise, Joakim Robillard arrived at the Saint-Vincent hospital in STAT in the skin of Tommy Fontaine, a 27-year-old schizophrenic who was burned “on the lower body” by fryer oil.

It’s a coincidence, of course. Neither the teamIndefensible nor that of STAT only want actors to cross from one series to another, during the same week. But at 120 half-hours per season STAT and D’Indefensibleit is obvious that other overlaps will appear.

In addition to tear gas bombs, knife attacks and briefcase blows to the face, Indefensible is currently flirting with very aggressive sponsorship. When the camera shows the Albi license plate, the giant of André Lapointe’s (Michel Laperrière) SUV, ultimately, it works. It’s more organic and plausible. But filming metal water bottles labeled Albi the Giant during a meeting of the Lapointe, Macdonald and Desjardins cabinet is a no. When I saw the advertising bottles, I screamed in my living room, like Romane (Catherine St-Laurent) in front of a tied up corpse in a suburban basement.

Yes, TV is expensive, yes, it has to be financed differently. Still, there are more subtle ways to integrate a sponsor into a plot.

In closing, I secretly prayed to the triple goddess – and was granted, thank you – so that TVA would not disconnect If we still loved each other in the wake of Guillaume Lemay-Thivierge’s controversial video, which cost him his position as host at Masked singers.

We don’t watch this romantic docu-reality for the fine and brilliant observations of Guillaume Lemay-Thivierge and his partner Émily Bégin. We watch for therapist Louise Sigouin and her four couples on the verge of breakup.
