Israel-Premier Tech (IPT), of which Houle is a member, has announced that it has obtained an invitation from the organizers of the Tour de France to participate in the event which will take place in 2023, the cycling team announced in a press release on Wednesday.
“It was super important to get this invitation for the Tour de France, one of the most important races of the year, and it’s really great to start the year with this news,” Houle said per way of press release.
Houle had won the honors of the 16e stage of the Tour de France in a masterful way in the Pyrenees last summer. Barring an unforeseen event, the cyclist from Sainte-Perpétue will therefore be able to try to add another stage victory to his impressive record.
“It’s a race that I enjoy, especially after my victory last year, so I’m very motivated to take part in it for the fifth time in my career,” said the 32-year-old athlete. year. Houle’s victory had also allowed him to become the second Canadian cyclist to triumph in this major competition after Steve Bauer, who had won during the initial stage of the classic in 1988.
