Hugo Gaston will not play against the Czech Republic, from Thursday, November 25, in Davis Cup tennis. The Toulousain (66th worldwide) was removed from selection by Captain Sébastien Grosjean, who has favorite from Hérault Richard Gasquet (86th worldwide).
The coach had brought a group of six players in preparation to Innsbruck. He had to reduce this group to five for the competition. It is therefore Gasquet, Arthur Rinderknech (58th), Adrian Mannarino (71st), Nicolas Mahut (5th in doubles) and Pierre-Hugues Herbert (8th in doubles) who will defend the colors of France.
Hugo Gaston remains within the team as sparring partner.
Les Bleus play their first Group C meeting against the Czech Republic on Thursday November 25 at 4 p.m. in Innsbruck, before facing Great Britain on Saturday November 28 from 10 a.m.
