(Toronto) American comedian Howie Mandel and Canadian late-night talk show host Lilly Singh will be jury members for the show’s comeback Canada’s Got Talent, at Citytv.
Mandel was a judge on the mother show, America’s Got Talent, for 11 seasons. Rapper and producer Kardinal Offishall and wrestler Trish Stratus, two other Canadian-born artists, also join the jury for the Canadian version of this popular American franchise of Got talent.
Country-pop singer Lindsay Ell will this time host the reality contest, presented in Canada for the first time in 2012, without follow-up.
At the time, the jury was made up of actor Martin Short, singer Measha Brueggergosman and composer Stephan Moccio, all of Canadian origin. After the first season of 2012, Rogers Sports & Media had ended the adventure, citing the “economic climate”.
Production of the new version will begin in Niagara Falls, Ont., Next month, with a studio audience, following sanitary protocols. The show is scheduled to air from spring 2022.
