In reality, there is no deadline for filing a power of attorney request.

“You can still request it the same day, although it is not recommended. It is better to take the steps as quickly as possible, so that it can be registered”, says Monique Bailet, assistant in charge of civil status. To do this, simply go to the maprocuration.gouv.fr website and fill out an online form. The request must be filed at a police station, a gendarmerie or a court of law, also presenting their identity document. It is possible to give a proxy to any elector.
