In case of absence in the first or second round of the presidential election, it is possible to ask another person to vote in your place under conditions.
10 days before the first round of the 2022 presidential election, it is still possible to make a power of attorney. This is the case of Marion in Nice (Alpes-Maritimes). In his hand is the assurance of being able to vote. “There wasn’t much time left, I had to do it because it’s important to go and vote”, says Marion Rosier, voter. In reality, there is no deadline for filing a power of attorney request.
“You can still request it the same day, although it is not recommended. It is better to take the steps as quickly as possible, so that it can be registered”, says Monique Bailet, assistant in charge of civil status. To do this, simply go to the maprocuration.gouv.fr website and fill out an online form. The request must be filed at a police station, a gendarmerie or a court of law, also presenting their identity document. It is possible to give a proxy to any elector.
