Little known to the general public, noise pollution is nevertheless harmful to health. “Our ear never closes, even when we sleep. Sources of noise pollution include planes, trains, but also cars or even noisy neighbors.
Indeed, “the noise chosen does not have the same impact as the noise experienced”, justifies the doctor. Furthermore, not everyone has the same sensitivity. The alteration takes place “over time” and age. Discomfort comes first, followed by tinnitus, one of the first signs that hearing is deteriorating, specifies Damien Mascret, who invites the French “to test yourself”, notably via the HORA application. To protect your hearing, it is important to rest and move away from noisy elements, or to use noise suppressors in very noisy areas.
