how to get your Crit’Air sticker?

The Crit’Air vignette becomes essential to circulate in the city center of Marseille from this Thursday, September 1 and the establishment of the ZFE (Low Emission Zone) in an entire part of the city. nearly one out of three Marseillais would not yet have their Crit’Air sticker. To order, you need a means of payment, your vehicle registration document and an internet connection.

A sticker costs 3.70 euros

You have to go to the government website certificate-air.gouv.fr. All you have to do is enter some information available on the vehicle’s gray card: your license plate number, the date of the first entry into service of the vehicle, as well as your personal information (surname, first name, email, address). Vignettes are not free, count €3.70 per vehicle.

The sesame arrives by post a few days after the order. In the meantime, in the event of an inspection, you can present a temporary certificate. It arrives directly by email, a few minutes after your order.

Thumbnails Crit’Air classifies vehicles into six categories, from zero to five, depending on their age and fuel. Recent, electric, less polluting cars display a sticker numbered 0, green. For the oldest diesels, it’s a Crit’Air 5, black in color.

From this Thursday, September 1, the ZFE is set up in Marseille. The perimeter covers 19.5 km² in the city center. This Low Emission Zone excluded category 5 vehicles and those that cannot claim a vignette (because they are too old) this Thursday, to reduce pollution. Prohibited vehicles are liable to a fine between 68 and 135 euros.

A pedagogical phase is however promised for the first months after the establishment of the ZFE. In order to inform residents of the area concerned, “a major communication campaign was deployed“, specifies the Metropolis, with the distribution of an information leaflet in all the mailboxes of the zone but also a poster campaign intended for all motorists. 300 road signs have also been installed at the entrances and exits from the perimeter.

Attention, from October, a verbalization device “can be implemented by national and municipal police forces“, specifies the Metropolis.
