Francis Cabrel is one of the most popular singers of his generation. Besides his talent, his kindness is no longer a secret. On March 16, our colleagues from Parisian unveiled a new anecdote centered on the artist. While walking the Astaffort market in Lot-et-Garenne, Francis Cabel was visibly won over by a young musician named Enora. For more than a year, the teenager has been struggling to buy a concert harp. Touched, Francis Cabrel therefore offered him his own.
“He had sent an email to Mum a few days before but seeing him in person is still great”, explained Enora to our colleagues. Not a little proud, Vanessa – her mother – also welcomed the singer’s gesture: “She has been playing a Celtic harp for six years, but now wants to play a high-priced concert harp. As she knew that we were financially limited for this purchase, she decided to get the money herself from the markets. I’m really proud of her and her father too!”.
On a daily basis, the musician distinguished herself with the harp on the markets to realize her dream. And passers-by were never insensitive to his melodies. Quite the contrary! “I’m happy because people came to listen to the songs and they stayed long enough even after giving away a song or two!”, added Enora, who also launched a participatory pot on social networks. “In total, she managed to raise almost 3000 euros and it really helps us to be able to buy a second-hand harp in Limoges which is worth around 10,000 euros”. pointed out her mother.
With the star’s donation, Enora hopes to help others who have gone through a situation similar to hers. But she also has other projects in mind. “It’s a Celtic harp that we’re going to rent at a reasonable price with the authorization of Monsieur Cabrel to young people who can’t afford one. With the money we will collect we will be able to pay for a trip with the other students of our music class to a major harp festival in Ireland next October. If people in France want to help us, my kitty is still online!”, added the main interested party. The message got through!
