How the Region wants to buy the buildings of the SAM to reinstall a foundry in Aveyron

For almost 150 days, the employees of the SAM foundry in Aveyron have occupied their factory. After months of struggle, they are very close to obtaining an agreement to end the crisis. They continue to negotiate to obtain guarantees on the preservation of their working tool: the Viviez foundry.

Dialogue and no police

In any case, we are far from an intervention by the CRS to get the former SAMs out of their factory. During the last meeting in the prefecture this Tuesday, April 12, Prefect Valérie Michel-Moreaux reiterated that she wanted dialogue and not law enforcement.

Everything therefore concentrates on the buildings. The factory walls still belong to Jinjiang-Immobilier, one of the subsidiaries of the Chinese founders that left the SAM bloodless. Buildings, bought around 90,000 euros six years ago, in 2017. Today the former owners were asking for more than 3 million.

Visit for price evaluation

So the services of the Region brought in domains to set a more reasonable price. The visit took place. The agreement is not far away. In any case, the elected officials do not want the future buyer to have an exorbitant rent to pay to the Chinese, hence the importance of this takeover.

Regarding machines, the negotiations take place between the potential buyer and the judicial liquidator. And here too, it seems to be progressing.

If these negotiations are successful, the employees could therefore leave the premises fairly quickly. On the other hand, on surpa-legal premiums no progress with Renault. Things will therefore no doubt be settled by the industrial tribunal now.
