The European recovery plan provides for 40 billion euros for France to help with the ecological and digital transition in particular. But the European Union will demand compensation.
The European Union will distribute 750 billion euros as part of a vast economic recovery plan, according to the needs of each country. Italy is expected to receive 192 billion, Spain 69.5 billion, France 40 billion, and Germany 23 billion euros. The aim is in particular to relaunch the energy transition, for example via renovation aid. These aids are essential for certain craftsmen specializing in ecological materials, such as Olivier Jeanson, manager of Planète Ener-J. Of the two materials it markets for insulation, hemp, only one is subsidized, and it is the only one that is sold. For all European countries, at least 37% of this money must be used for the ecological transition, and 20% for the digital transition.
The first funds could be released by September. Brussels cannot demand reforms, but intends to verify that the recovery plan of each country “be sufficiently ambitious in terms of investments and reforms“, assures Marta Wieczorek, economic spokesperson at the European Commission. The reform of unemployment insurance in France is one of them.
