Last month, a book telling the story of abuse in a luxury nursing home triggered investigations. On Monday, February 28, the Court of Auditors recommended devoting at least 1.3 billion more to improving care in these establishments. Cash investigation makes new revelations.

At Korian, the budget for the catering of EHPAD residents is defined to the nearest penny. The CRJ is a resident’s food budget for a day. It includes breakfast, lunch, snack, evening meal and snack, as well as drinks. It is 4.35 euros per elderly person. Everything is quantified to the nearest gram to meet this objective.

According to a document leaked by journalists from Cash investigation, the onion soup is without croutons, on Grandmother’s Day, in order to save money. “It’s a bit caricatural to say that we eliminate croutons to save money… The idea that people can tell me that I am starving the elderly revolts me”defends the general manager of Korian in France, Nicolas Mérigot.
