How many grams of salt are there in a liter of seawater? The one who has the answer is called Cyril Hofstein, he is a journalist, passionate about the marine world and author of Vacation notebook of the sear illustrated by Gab and published by Arthaud. “On average, a liter of seawater contains 34.7 grams of salt. This is the equivalent of six teaspoons, or, on the scale of the seas and oceans, some 49 million billion tonnes of dissolved salt which, if ever it were to crystallize, would form a total layer 45 meters thick.”

A little math exercise now: knowing that the average speed of a sailboat is about 4.6 knots, how many kilometers will it travel in two hours? It’s up to you to do the math or listen to this column to find out the answer given by Cyril Hofstein.

And as we arrived safely, we close this Sea vacation notebook for today and see you tomorrow to continue our revisions!
