Behind the commando in Moscow (Russia), Friday March 22, a name: that of the Islamic State. The terrorist group has claimed responsibility for the killings three times. A group that one could believe was moribund, far from the triumphant propaganda images. Since 2019, the self-proclaimed caliphate has been a shadow of its former self. However, for years the UN has been warning. In recent months, France has experienced several attacks. In Arras (Pas-de-Calais), a man broke into a high school and killed French teacher Dominique Bernard. In Paris, an individual armed with a knife attacked tourists.
Different operating methods
No link between the two cases, but one thing in common: the two suspected terrorists claim to be members of the Islamic State. In Belgium, a man shot dead two Swedish fans. This time, Daesh claimed responsibility for the solitary attack. If these operating methods are far removed from the Moscow attack, new movements have been in action for several years.
