Love makes you blind… But it can also save your life! And it’s not Matt Damon who will say the opposite. The reason ? The one who is showing the feature film “Oppenheimer” which is released in France on July 19, 2023 has made it known that it was his wife, Luciana Barroso, who had allowed him to get out of depression.
During the show “Jake’s Take”, the 52-year-old actor indeed recalled a difficult memory: “Without naming a specific movie, sometimes you end up in something that, you know, isn’t really what you were hoping for. Halfway through a production, when there were still several months left, I had taken my family somewhere, and I had been unpleasant. I remember my wife pulling me up because I had fallen into a depression about it, like, ‘What did I do?’” he confided.
“We are here now”, the mother of her three children repeated to him. A sentence that helped the man to get his head above water. “I’m proud, in large part because of her, to be a professional actor. It means going to work, putting in a 15-hour day and giving absolutely everything you’ve got, even knowing the effort will be wasted, he added. If you can do that with the best attitude possible, then you’re a professional. And she really helped me in that way”he concluded.

A marriage that lasts
