Winter is approaching and the cold is more and more felt. It could even fall a few snowflakes during the week in some areas. This is what we learn from the forecasts of meteorologists who carefully study the evolution of atmospheric phenomena.
With this cold, fatigue and depression invite themselves more easily into our daily lives. The rain doesn’t really make us want to sing, but rather to stay under the covers… And for good reason, we would all be “weather sensitive”.
If the weather has an impact on our morale, it has also helped write history by influencing many historical events.
To know more, Johann Guerin receives the meteorologist Louis Bodin. He is also the author of the book We are all weather sensitive at Albin Michel.
In Wait a minute !, it takes you behind the scenes of the weather and deciphers the influence it can have on everyday life.
No exact forecast beyond six days
A weekend by the sea in anticipation? A family walk planned for next week? The first instinct is to check the weather forecast on your smartphone.
If forecasts for the next 15 days are available, Louis bobin explains that it is not Not possible to predict the weather over such a long period of time.
The only forecasts to be taken into consideration are those spread over five to six days. Further on, they will necessarily be subject to changes.
Many parameters to measure
Meteorology is a science that requires measuring a set of data in the external environment.
Of many parameters must be taken into account in forecasting the weather in such a way exact : temperature, atmospheric pressure, wind speed or humidity.
To be able to measure them, meteorologists use a whole arsenal ofmeasuring instruments : weather stations, satellites, weather balloons.
