Tuesday, May 24, Maryse Burgot, senior reporter for the foreign service of France Télévisions, is present on the set of 20 Hours. As the war in Ukraine began three months ago, the journalist, who was on the ground, takes stock of the evolution of the conflict. “We have the feeling that we are settling into a long war. In the Donbass, it is indisputable, the Russians are gaining ground“, reports Maryse Burgot, who observed the progress of the Russian army during her various reports.
The journalist estimates that the war in Ukraine could last several more months. “But beware, before being able to declare a possible victory for Donbass, Moscow must take a city, that of Kramatorsk (Ukraine)”, adds Maryse Burgot. This city is the capital of the part of Donbass still under Ukrainian control. The newspaper warns: Ukrainian soldiers are already preparing for an urban guerrilla warfare, in order to keep this city at all costs.
