Posthumous albums are common. These are often titles initiated before the death of the artists. Explanations from Alex Jaffray, music columnist, on the set of 20 Heures, Friday September 27.

The name Olivia Newton-John immediately brings to mind Grease. However, even if the singer has disappeared, a new song by the artist has been released. “It was her lyricist and friend, Victoria Shaw, with whom she worked on this song fifteen years ago, who brought it out”explains Alex Jaffray, composer and music columnist, present on the set of 20 Heures, Friday September 27. “The profits will be directly donated to Olivia Newton-John’s foundation, which deals with alternative treatments against cancer”he explains.

It is common for dead singers to release records, like the Beatles in 2023. “John Lennon recorded this title at home on a small mini-cassette, a piano-voice model, in 1977. The Beatles used artificial intelligence to extract John Lennon’s voice”says Alex Jaffray.
