The big show at Maisonneuve Park
Claude Dubois, Roxane Bruneau, FouKi, Le Vent du Nord and many other artists will perform from 8 p.m. on June 24 at Maisonneuve Park during the traditional big Quebec National Day show. Pierre-Yves Lord will host the event, which will conclude with a group performance of the song A chance we have in tribute to Jean-Pierre Ferland.
For people who cannot travel, the show will be broadcast on television — on ICI Télé and TVA —, on the radio — at 96.9 CKOI and on the CIME and Rythme stations — and in online — on the ICI Télé website. Exclusive performances are also planned on the Web after the show, at 10:30 p.m.
The parade in Montreal
Earlier in the day of June 24, part of Rachel and Sherbrooke streets will host the traditional National Day parade. The start will take place at 1:30 p.m. at the intersection of Rachel and Molson streets. The living fresco will move east on Rachel Street towards Orléans Avenue. The parade, which will not include any vehicles, will end its route at Maisonneuve Park, where the big evening show will take place.
Neighborhood parties in Montreal
Numerous neighborhood parties will make the metropolis vibrate. Whether on the Plateau Mont-Royal, in Outremont, in Montréal-Nord or in Lachine, parks and other gathering places will host shows and festivities on June 23 and 24. In total, 15 neighborhoods across the island organize activities.
The Great Show on the Plains of Abraham
In Quebec, the show marking the national holiday will take place on June 23 on the Plains of Abraham. The comedy show at MTelus
For humor lovers, the comedy duo Brick & Brack will deliver a show celebrating La Belle Province on June 23 at 9 p.m. at the MTelus. Comedians François Ruel-Côté and Sébastien Tessier, their real names, will be accompanied by Arnaud Soly, Richardson Zéphir, Virginie Fortin, among others, during an evening halfway between a show and a party.
Traveling entertainment in Quebec
On June 23 at 2 p.m., before the show on the Plains of Abraham, residents of the capital as well as visitors will be entertained by public entertainers and street artists who will perform on the Grande Allée. On the menu: caricatures, acrobatics using hoops, juggling and, of course, music.
In Longueuil
In Longueuil, the celebrations extend over two days. The June 23 show will take place at St. Mark Park at 8 p.m. with performances by Dumas and Marilyne Léonard. DJ Yro will open and close the evening.
On June 24, Bleu Jeans Bleu and Renay Ray will offer performances at the Parc de la Cité from 7:45 p.m. Earlier in the day, still at the Parc de la Cité, family activities will be offered: circus workshops, games. address, giant puppets, makeup, etc.
Downstream
Qualité Motel, Ariane Moffatt, Ya Cetidon, Safia Nolin are on the program for a major show at the Laval Nature Center on June 23 from 7:15 p.m. The fireworks that have traditionally marked Laval celebrations will be this year replaced by surprise performances.
On June 24, the celebrations will be held during the day with stories, dance and music, still at the Laval Nature Center.
In Gatineau
Corneille and Gab Bouchard will draw from their respective repertoires to offer the show on June 23 at 5 p.m. at Gilles-Maisonneuve Park, in Gatineau. Claudie Létourneau, artist from Outaouais, will perform at the opening of the event.
In Saint-Jérôme
On June 23, the music group Salebarbes will bring its Acadian energy to Jacques-Locas Park in Saint-Jérôme for a show starting at 8:30 p.m. Beforehand, street food trucks as well as performances by Sandra Contour and the Natural Blondes group are on the schedule. To end the evening, a drone show will be launched at 10 p.m.
