(Houston) A 22-year-old student caught in the deadly crowd movement at the Astroworld festival in Texas has succumbed to her injuries, relatives announced Thursday, making her the ninth victim of the concert.
Bharti Shahani had been hospitalized for nearly a week in a hospital in metropolitan Texas and had been placed on life support.
“I just want to find my baby,” pleaded her mother, in tears in front of reporters.
Bharti Shahani attended the concert of American rapper Travis Scott where a terrible crowd movement killed eight other people and injured hundreds.
“One person fell, and the others followed like dominoes” on top of each other, told local television ABC13 Mohit Bellani, his cousin who accompanied him to the event.
“There were bodies piled up, we were struggling to come to the surface and breathe to stay alive,” he said.
A 9 year old boy, Ezra Blount, is between life and death.
Dozens of complaints have already been filed against the organizers of this deadly concert.
This includes rapper Travis Scott, main organizer of the festival and present on stage at the time of the tragedy.
