There will be no rental evictions for the coming winter months, but the law provides for exceptions. Live on the 12/13 set, Tuesday November, 1stthe journalist Catherine Flushing gives us explanations.
During the winter months, the winter break does not allow rental evictions. “During this perioda tenant cannot be evicted from the accommodation he occupies, regardless of the reason for which the owner has initiated proceedings: succession of unpaid rent, lack of insurance. The goal is to protect families in financial difficulty.explains journalist Catherine Flushinglive on the set of 12/13, Tuesday November 1st. The winter break “begins today, November 1, and will thus continue until March 31, 2023”she continues.
In principle, everyone is affected by this law, but exceptions exist. “are excluded from this right however: the “squatters”, that is to say the people who entered a room without the agreement of the owner and without having signed a lease. They can be expelled during the winter break”, explains the journalist. Other exceptions exist such as families benefiting from suitable rehousing, eviction from the marital home ordered by a judge, or finally, a building which would be affected by a security order.
