The elected officials of Sables-d’Olonne, in Vendée, have decided to grant bonuses for owners who rent their accommodation to seasonal workers. The owners will be able to receive 2,400 euros over three years.

In seaside resorts, finding seasonal accommodation has become mission impossible. For a year, this is no longer the case in Sables-d’Olonne (Vendee). The city is responsible for finding unoccupied housing for its workers, such as Eva marcott. To get an apartment, she didn’t have to do anything. The town hall put her directly in touch with an owner.I feel very lucky to have such a big apartment for me with amenities“, she specifies. The amount of his rent is 400 euros, paid by his company.

A springboard for the future

By renting her accommodation, Jacqueline Mailles receives a bonus of 800 euros. The decision was made when I knew there was a need, and on the other hand, there was financial compensation which we can judge to be useful”says the owner. Without this accommodation, Eva marcott should have given up a first experience in pastry. It can give me a plus for my next job”she explains. More than 1,300 accommodations are unoccupied in the summer in Les Sables-d’Olonne.
