Tuesday, November 8, the owners of accommodation in Paris received bad news. The mayor of Paris has announced that the property tax will increase by 52%. This price increase is strongly criticized by Parisians. “It does a lot for people. That’s the context, unfortunately.”reacts a resident of the capital. Anne Hidalgo had nevertheless undertaken, during the two electoral campaigns, not to increase the taxes of Parisians.
The town hall of Paris explains this increase in the property tax by a lack of revenue allocated by the State. “In responsibility, we make the choice, both to maintain quality public services, but also to continue to invest for the ecological transition, to increase the property tax paid by Parisian owners”justifies Paul SimondonDeputy Mayor of Paris, in charge of finance. The government reacted through Gabriel Attaldenying being the cause of these increases.
