The government has announced emergency measures to help residents of cities where property prices are soaring. 154 new municipalities are thus classified as a “tense zone”.

HAS Cabourg (Calvados)there are tens of thousands of tourists during the summer, and only 3,700 inhabitants year-round. With 70% of second homes, the town is facing a housing shortage. For ten months, it has been impossible for an employee in the restaurant industry to find rental accommodation, given the high prices. CabourgLorient (Morbihan) or Troyes (Dawn) are part of the 154 new municipalities classified as “tense zone”.

Encourage the construction of more new housing

The objective is to regulate rents and reduce the notice period to one month. So many measures to facilitate access to rental in a frozen market today. The system should also encourage municipalities to build more new housing. Properties which should then be put on the rental market at attractive prices. In total, 4.5 million additional residents are moving to tense areas.
