The price of gas and electricity is also racing. Some are lucky enough to hardly feel it: they live in passive energy houses. These houses produce energy that is reused to heat the interior.

From the outside, seen from the street, a house looks quite classic. Built three years ago, it offers a whole new face on the garden side. With its solar collectors and large openings, it is designed to optimize each ray of the sun. With triple glazing, cold and heat cannot enter the house. Result: no heating bill, only 50 euros of electricity per month and no radiator in the living room.

In summer, sun blinds limit the impact of the heat. But the real secret of the passive energy house is upstairs: a heat exchanger ventilation system. The principle is simple. Use the heat produced naturally in the bathroom, for example to warm the incoming air. A process that maintains an interior temperature of 20 degrees on average. These installations entail an additional cost of 10 to 15% for the construction of a house or collective housing.
