Gaétan Casanova, president of the InterSyndicale Nationale des internees, explains that France must use the experience of its neighbors to anticipate. The objective put forward is to provide the population with a response that is “smoother and more efficient”. He adds that it is important to be attentive to the measures taken by other Europeans and encourages communication with them.
For Gaétan Casanova, it is impossible to say whether the French are safe from a re-containment. However, he adds that this possibility cannot be ruled out. It would be a mistake to rule out the possibility of a re-containment because of the presidential campaign, he said. Gaétan Casanova explains that the ideal would be to take effective measures and the least possible freedom killers. It indicates that political considerations must be excluded from a decision-making process and thata scientific analysis of the situation must be carried out.
