The main indicators of COVID-19 have remained relatively stable in the last few hours, according to the latest government report, which however reports four new deaths.
Two fewer patients were hospitalized with the disease, for a total of 1,278, government figures released on Wednesday show. Among these hospitalizations, 440 people were treated specifically for COVID-19.
In intensive care, 26 patients in all were in this unit, which represents a decrease of four since the day before. Of these, 19 were hospitalized due to illness.
There are still more than 1,800 health professionals who are withdrawn for reasons related to COVID-19.
Separately, the four new deaths attributed to the disease in Wednesday’s toll occurred two to seven days ago. There are now 18,105 Quebecers who have succumbed to the disease since the start of the pandemic.
The number of cases has increased slightly since Tuesday’s toll, with 614 new infections recorded. However, this data should be taken with a grain of salt, since access to screening centers is reserved for priority clienteles.
Quebecers also declared 34 positive rapid tests on Tuesday.
On the vaccination side, there is a very slight increase, with 2206 doses administered on Tuesday.
