“The Horne Foundry has made tremendous progress over the past 30 years. And what I can tell you with Glencore, having worked around the world with this company, it is a company that is eco-responsible,” he said in an interview Friday morning on QUB radio.

According to the candidate for the next provincial elections, the owner of the foundry, Glencore, has “shown its very good will”.

Recall that the company indicated Thursday that it would comply with the environmental standards issued by Quebec, and intends to reach the target of 15 ng/m3 in 2027.

“You have to find the middle ground. […] The file is progressing very well, we have brought solutions, ”said Mr. Daigle.

“There is a regional economy that depends on this company. […] Glencore in this case is part of the prosperity of the region,” he added.

According to the candidate, the Conservative Party of Quebec will “never take actions of closure and scare fellow citizens”.
