Quebec’s national director of public health, Dr. Horacio Arruda, has tendered his resignation to Prime Minister François Legault.
The news was confirmed to The Canadian Press by the office of Prime Minister François Legault.
The resignation letter
Mr. Legault will hold a press conference on Tuesday at 1 p.m.
Dr Arruda had led public health actions since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in the winter of 2020. He had held the position of national director since the summer of 2012 when he was appointed by the Minister of Health of the time, Yves Bolduc.
