Honda | The Prologue electric SUV will be cheaper than expected

Honda has chosen to revise the pricing strategy of its very first fully electric model offered here. The Prologue, a mid-size SUV, will be sold for $59,990, more than $5,000 less than what the brand predicted a few months ago.

This new model, with dimensions similar to those of a Passport, is of paramount importance in the manufacturer’s electric ambitions and was closely developed with General Motors (GM). It thus benefits from the American giant’s Ultium electrical architecture and shares its modular electrical platform with the Chevrolet Blazer.

For its debut, this new player will be offered with a single powertrain, namely a duo of electric motors producing 288 hp which are powered by an 85 kWh lithium-ion battery. The targeted range ranges between 439 km and 452 km, depending on the options, and the charging power can increase up to 150 kW at ultra-fast terminals. Note that like many new models, this Prologue will be compatible with terminals from Tesla’s Supercharger network.

Just like the new Accord, the electric SUV will be offered with an infotainment system with integrated Google applications. Available from spring.
