The body found in a recycling bin in Hochelaga-Maisonneuve on Monday has been identified.

According to our information, it is Richard Lizotte, 58 years old. The Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) has not officially revealed his identity, but confirms that he is a 58-year-old man.
“Currently, the investigators are at the victim’s residence doing certain checks,” said agent Véronique Comtois, spokesperson for the SPVM. She was unable to say if he was known to the police community.
Employees of the recycling collection made the macabre discovery around 8:50 a.m. Monday morning, and the investigation was entrusted to the major crimes section of the SPVM. No arrests have yet been made in this case.
This is the 18e homicide committed in Montreal in 2022.
