Fabrice Dusset, a homeless person for five years, saved a second-hand dealer from a fire in Lyon in early December. To thank him, the inhabitants of the district mobilized.
It has been nearly a month since the facts occurred, yet the popularity of Fabrice Dusset does not fade. In his neighborhood, everyone has recognized him since he saved a second-hand dealer from the flames whose shop caught fire. “I didn’t think about it, I ran, I took him by the feet because there were flames all around him”, says the hero. As a thank you, a kitty was opened in the neighborhood, reaching the amount of 2,500 euros in one month.
“It was important to make a gesture: he says he made a civic gesture, and we wanted to make such a civic gesture towards him”, says Sandra, at the origin of the pot. A petition has also emerged, asking that the homeless can sleep warm. Thanks to this action, Fabrice Dusset was offered social housing after five years on the street. “I would like to thank the people who are on the internet, it’s thanks to them”, he greets.
