An intimate and private ceremony in memory of filmmaker Jean-Marc Vallée took place last December in Santa Monica, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The ceremony organized by Jean-Marc Vallée’s boys, Émile and Alex, brought together actors, authors, producers, technicians and executives from his American productions. Dallas Buyers Club, Big Little Lies, Sharp Objects and Wild.
The participants of this memorial went to a beach in Santa Monica in the afternoon to pay their respects, since at the time of his death, a little over a year ago, sanitary measures against COVID -19 were too restrictive. The event was financially supported by HBO and Searchlight.
“He liked to come to the beach when he was in town,” producer Nathan Ross told the HollywoodReporter. The afternoon seemed to us to be the ideal time to pay homage to him. Even though it’s been a year, those who were present still feel great sorrow at his loss. We miss his work and his person. »
Jean-Marc Vallée died suddenly on December 25, 2021 following a heart attack, a few minutes after arriving at his second home in Berthier-sur-Mer, in the Chaudière-Appalaches region.
The coroner had concluded that the death was natural, caused by “a fatal cardiac arrhythmia”.
