Bison futé is raising its orange flag throughout France and red in the north-west quarter of the country on Friday in the direction of holiday departures. Saturday, the day is classified as red in the North-West, Hauts-de-France, Centre-Val-de-Loire and Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, and orange in the rest of the country. Sunday, the road traffic forecasting organization sees orange in Île-de-France and Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes in the direction of departures, and orange in the Paris region in the direction of returns.
Bison futé expects a “heavy traffic on most major routes (…) from the north of the country towards the south or coastal regions” on this second weekend of school holidays. “Departures on vacation [vont] to intensify and register for longer distances covered”alerts the organization.
In details, Fridayin the direction of departures, Bison futé recommends leaving or crossing the Île-de-France before 12 p.m., avoiding the A1 between Paris and Lille from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m., the A25 between Lille and Socx from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., the A13 between Paris and Caen from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and the A63 between Bordeaux and Bayonne from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. It is also advisable to avoid the A10 near Orléans from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. and near Bordeaux from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., the A7 between Lyon and Marseille from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. and the Mont-Blanc tunnel (N205) between France and Italy from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
SATURDAYin the direction of departures, Bison futé suggests leaving or crossing the Île-de-France before 12 p.m., avoiding the A11 between Le Mans and Nantes from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., the A10 near Orléans from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and near Bordeaux from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., the A63 between Bordeaux and Bayonne from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The organization also advises avoiding the A7 between Lyon and Orange from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the A9 between Béziers and Spain from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., the N85 national road between Grenoble and Gap between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., and the Mont-Blanc tunnel (N205) between France and Italy from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Finally Sundayin the direction of departures, the organization invites motorists to leave or cross the Île-de-France region before 8 a.m., to avoid the A7 between Lyon and Orange from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and the Mont-Blanc tunnel (N205) between France and Italy from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. In the direction of returns, Bison futé recommends reaching or crossing the Île-de-France region before 12 p.m.
