Canada had to admit defeat by a score of 4 to 3 in overtime against Finland in the final of the World Hockey Championship and must therefore settle for the silver medal.
The squad led by Claude Julien made up for a two-goal deficit late in the game, but were unable to complete the job in extra time. CH player Joel Armia distinguished himself by scoring the third goal for the Finns.
