Around 9:15 p.m., his son was driving a minivan in which his small family was when they were violently struck by a truck driver.
According to the authorities, the man driving the truck never made his mandatory stop at an intersection in Saint-Hélène-de-Bagot.
Under the force of the impact, the two parents were ejected from the vehicle, under the eyes of their children. The 27-year-old mother was taken to hospital and doctors still feared for her life on Thursday evening.
The 29-year-old father suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries. The three children, aged 10, 5 and 4, were slightly injured.

As for the truck driver, Harjot Singh, he never stopped to help them, preferring to continue on his way.
“You don’t even do that to an animal. And he does that to humans… to children? He could have stopped to see if everyone was correct, ”launches the one who spent last night at his son’s bedside.
He also went to the scene of the collision the same evening after being alerted by relatives of the tragedy.
“To see the children crying like that…”, he drops with the voice choked by the emotions. These were taken care of by a family member, he says.
The newspaper does not name him, at his request, in order to preserve his son whose state of health is still fragile, and who still does not know that the life of his spouse is in danger.

Shortly after the collision, the police went after the offending truck driver.
