(Frankfurt) The European Central Bank raised its main interest rates by 0.75 points on Thursday, the largest increase in the history of the institution in the face of soaring inflation in the euro zone.

After ending the era of negative rates in July, the guardians of the Euro raised the main interest rate to 1.25%, despite fears about growth. The rate taxing a portion of bank cash not distributed as credit rises from zero to 0.75%.
