An agreement was concluded between La France insoumise and Europe Écologie-Les Verts with a view to the legislative elections, on the night of Sunday May 1 to Monday May 2. The discussions with the PS and the PC continue, in the evening of Monday, May 2.

Olivier Faure, the boss of the Socialist Party (PS), arrived around 2 p.m., Monday, May 2, at the headquarters of La France insoumise (LFI). “I really, deeply believe that together we can awaken hope in this country”, did he declare. The negotiations are intensifying between the PS and the party of Jean-Luc Mélenchon. The schedule accelerated the day before, following the agreement concluded late in the evening between LFI and Europe Écologie-Les Verts.

Five key points cement the agreement reached on Sunday May 1: retirement at 60, the minimum wage at 1,400 euros net, the freezing of the prices of certain products, ecological planning and the principle of European disobedience, which was debated. However, this principle is limited to economic and budgetary issues. The text serves as the basis for negotiations with the Socialist Party. Stéphane Le Foll, mayor (PS) of Le Mans (Sarthe) denounced “a form of radicalism” in the morning, on RTL. At 10 p.m., it will be the turn of the Communists to enter a new round of negotiations. They hope to strike a deal overnight.
