It’s official: Emmanuel Macron and Marine Le Pen will face off again in the second round of the presidential elections on April 24. As in 2017, the president of the “National Rally” and the representative of the “En Marche” party were indeed elected by the French in the second round. If the current president won 28.1% of the vote, Marine Le Pen, she obtained 23.3% of the vote and is closely followed by Jean-Luc Mélenchon and his 21.1% of the vote.
Very far behind, Valérie Pécresse collected only 4.8%. A very low score which surprised many people, starting with his supporters of the “Les Républicains” party. Fervent support of Valérie Pécresse, Rachida Dati was invited on the set of France 2 to comment on this defeat, this Sunday April 10, 2022. “Rachida Dati, 4.8% for your party, it’s historic. What is your explanation?” then launched Anne-Sophie Lapix. “First, allow me all the same, in the same way as the other opponents, to make an observation this evening” she began curtly, then evoking the rise of Marine Le Pen’s party which, according to her, is the worst failure of this first round. “I don’t consider it a victory for Emmanuel Macron either.” she continued before being cut off by the journalist. “I have to interrupt you, I will give you the floor right afterbecause we are going to listen to Yannick Jadot who expresses himself” justified Anne-Sophie Lapix.
“If you can give me the floor”
And following the speech of the environmental candidate who also obtained 4.5% of the vote, the journalist went directly to Sandrine Rousseau, also present on the set. Something to annoy Rachida Dati who was quietly waiting for her turn to speak again. “If you can give me the floor again to finish, it’s still better, isn’t it? That would be more correct…” she said visibly very annoyed. “I’ll give it back to you, don’t worry”replied Anne-Sophie Lapix, then turning to Laurent Delahousse. “I’ll give you the floor right after, Rachida Dati, I promise you, but Laurent, I think you wanted to take us to an HQ.” she assured.
Rachida Dati, who was unable to resume her speech until fifteen minutes later, was unfortunately cut off again so that viewers could hear Jean-Luc Mélenchon’s speech…
