He’s back again! On December 1, 2023, Renaud will come outa brand new public album called In my ropes. This is a new album of covers of titles from his repertoire, covered with a string orchestra, and arranged by Michel Cœuriot. Among the titles that Renaud has covered, we find Manhattan-Kabul, Morgana from you And As soon as the wind blows. The singer, aged 71, does not intend to hang up, and as he revealed to The Team, hopes to release a new album of unreleased songs in the coming months. Among them, one song may surprise more than one: it would be entirely dedicated to international footballer Kylian Mbappé !
Indeed, as he revealed to our colleagues this Sunday, November 26, 2023, Renaud is a real fan of the Blues, and more particularly of the captain and successor of Hugo Lloris : “It’s my idol. He has class and he expresses himself very well. I watch his European Cup matches with PSG on TV. And he impressed me a lot during the final of the last World Cup.”. A final that Renaud had followed with his friend Pascal Obispo, and that they had celebrated together, at the latter’s home: “I’m going to quote it in a future song” he explained.
A passion that he sings and sings again
Renaud has always been a true football fan: Marseille Olympique fan for a very long time, he is now a regular at FC Nantes meetings: “La Beaujoire is a terrible atmosphere, one of the most beautiful in France, especially during European Cup matches. My favorite clubs remain Lens and OM definitely, but I have a fondness for Nantes “ explained the one who, de facto, can only also support PSG, where his famous idol plays. Renaud has already sung his passion on numerous occasions, such as in 1981 with I missed Téléfoot. He also mentioned his passion in the title Miss Maggie in 1985 then in At the Belle of May ten years later. A real fanatic!
