On Saturday March 26, Mick Schumacher suffered a terrible accident during the second qualifying session on the sidelines of the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Saudi Arabia. This happened when exiting a bend. The images can be found in our slideshow above.
“After an initial examination revealed no injuries, Schumacher was transferred to King Fahad Military Hospital in Jeddah for precautionary checks. “Saudi Arabia only with Kevin Magnussen’s car”, said in a press release his team, Haas. Although the German driver does not suffer from any serious injury, despite the disastrous state of his single-seater, he will not compete in the Grand Prix this Sunday, March 27.
And it is on his Twitter account, that the son of Michael Schumacher wanted to reassure everyone: “Hello everyone, just wanted to let you know that I am fine. Thank you for your messages of support. The car was performing really well, we will come back stronger!”, he wrote.
When the season resumed, for the first GP of the year in Bahrain, the 23-year-old athlete finished in 11th place, far behind Charles Leclerc and his teammate at Ferrari, Carlos Sainz Jr. Lewis Hamilton’s Mercedes finished in third place.
The start of the second Grand Prix of the season will be given at 7 p.m. on Canal+ this Sunday, March 27.
