A return to basics? In 1995, Laurent Ruquier passed “in a breeze” at TF1 when he hosted the show The Niouzes which was quickly canceled after five days due to lack of audience. Hugo Manos’ companion will have lasted longer on BFMTV with his 20 hours which he presented from September 25, 2023 until the end of December. But on the 26th of the last month of the year, the 60-year-old journalist announced his departure from Marc-Olivier Fogiel’s channel.
“I prefer to stop there. I could hide behind the economic situation and various dramatic events which certainly have not made my task easier since my arrival, but it is clear that the public has not followed me in this different role for me.”he wrote in a long message published on his Instagram account on December 26 before mentioning “audiences not up to par [ses] hopes nor the daily work that this represents”.

Laurent Ruquier, investigator at “Mask Singer”
Ten days later, Laurent Ruquier would have already found a shoe on his foot according to The Parisian
. Our colleagues reveal in fact that the companion of Hugo Manos phe could make his return to TF1 in the coming weeks. And more precisely, in the sixth season of a show very popular with viewers: Mask Singer. According to our colleagues, it should indeed be one of the four investigators of the program hosted by Camille Combal. As a reminder, the previous investigators were Michèle Bernier, Jeff Panacloc, Kev Adams, as well as Elodie Frégé.
The Parisian specifies, however, that the contract of Laurent Ruquier would not be and will not be signed until the final casting of investigators is made official. But our colleagues assure that the participation of the 60-year-old journalist in the TV hook of TF1 would indeed be acted upon. A role that he has already taken on, in addition to having been in the lobster costume, when he replaced his friend Michèle Bernier for an evening, during the previous season.
